Instructors                                        
All of the instructors have Masters degrees in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. They also have full professional and academic lives which they bring to the program.


Nicholas Hall
Nicholas is founder and Principal of Greenwich Academic Coaching, a private academic coaching and tutoring company. He has taught at the collegiate level and teaches courses in well-being and positive psychology in Fairfield County. Nick is also a visiting scholar at UPenn studying character strengths and occupation satisfaction.


Joanne Cavanaugh
Joanne
graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Biology. She is currently a Senior Executive Therapeutic Specialist with the Neurohelath Division of GlaxoSmithKline. Her interest lies in applying Positive Psychology in sales organizations and utilizing her skills to help children flourish and become more optimistic individuals.


Aren Cohen
Aren holds a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard University and her MBA from New York University. She has worked in various financial capacities at the Guggenheim Museum, CBS, two start-up companies, spent two years in venture capital, and has served as a consultant to start-up businesses.


Debbie Cohen
Debbie received her B.A. in English and M.A. in education, both from Harvard University. She is the creator of Core Yoga in Cambridge, MA, and has been teaching yoga since 1996. She has studied yoga and meditation extensively, as well as the Practicum in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. She was a teaching fellow for Harvard's positive psychology course in 2006.


Senia Maymin
Senia Maymin graduated from Harvard University and received her MBA from Stanford University. She is an Executive Coach, and the Founder and Editor of Positive Psychology News Daily. Senia runs a site on positive psychology coaching best practices at Senia.com.


A.J. Trave Monteverde
A.J. holds a Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Economics and Quality of Life studies from the University of Illinois. Her activities include teaching skills to improve the quality of life for youth and for women in transition. Her academic interests include researching values within organizations.


Giselle Nicholson
Giselle graduated magna cum laude from New York University. At Penn she studied the application of positive psychology to micro-finance impact assessments in developing countries. She is currently working with a large microfinance bank in the Middle East and wants to expand her research to South America. She is also working in land development and is starting a social enterprise.


Miriam Ufberg
Mimi graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Marketing and worked for 5 years as an Advertising Executive.  She studied the role of positive psychology in the realm of leadership authenticity and the role of meaning in life for emerging adults. She is a certified yoga instructor and manages a yoga studio in New York City.
