Do you want your teen to realize her full potential? Would you like him to develop a positive attitude in life, gain self-confidence, and work on his goals to become a high achiever? Would you like her to learn inter-personal communication skills in a positive and safe environment?
Enroll your teen in our exclusive, 40-hour Summer Program in Well-Being and Happiness to learn the tools to create resilience, optimism, positive emotions, and goal setting based on cutting-edge scientific psychological and educational research. The program is based on a newly developed science - Positive Psychology.
Students will practice the tools of well-being and happiness every day, in addition to learning the theory behind Positive Psychology. The purpose is to ingrain these strategies of mind and behavior into their lives, helping to create resilience, optimism, goal setting, and realizing their own character strengths to strengthen their lives in high school, college, and beyond. It is an interactive program which will include lectures, group projects. Please view our page outlining the Program Schedule.
The field of Positive Psychology was launched in 1998 by American Psychological Association President Martin Seligman, author of over 40 books including Authentic Happiness and Learned Optimism. In 2006, the world’s first Master’s class in Applied Positive Psychology graduated from the University of Pennsylvania under Martin Seligman.
Nowhere else is a course like this offered, especially with this caliber of instruction. Fairfield County teens have a unique opportunity to learn directly from the scholars and graduates of the University of Pennsylvania's new Master's program in Applied Positive Psychology. (Last year, a course in Positive Psychology at Harvard University had the highest enrollment of any class at the school - 855 students.)
The Program will be held at the Greenwich Arts Council at 299 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich, CT. It is a two-week, Monday through Friday, intensive from 10:30am to 2:30pm. Lunch will be provided. (For directions, click here.)
Cost: $1,475
